Refund policy

I’ll let you return any item purchased from Capulin Creations, including gift cards, for any reason for up to 30 days after you receive it. No questions asked. No cost to you except the cost of return shipping.

Didn’t like the style? No problem.

Didn’t fit right? I’ve got you.

Wasn’t what you imagined it would be? I get it.

It broke? Oh, man, that’s awful.

I’m confident in my products. I also know life happens. I don’t want you to worry about investing your money with me. So, wear your new Capulin Creations creation for 30 days. And if there’s any reason you don’t like it, send it back.

Return Process

Here’s how the return process works:

  •  You’ll need to contact me within 30 days of when the shipment tracking info says the item was delivered (see my shipping policy). You can contact me here or text me at 1(505) 226-4579 (texting is preferable over calling since I can’t always answer the phone).
  • I’ll send you a return shipping label via email. This will include shipping insurance.
  • You’ll package the item securely and ship it back to me using the return label I sent to you. It’d be super nice of you to use the original item and shipping boxes along with the filler material. But it’s not the end of the world if you don’t use the original packing material.
  • When I receive the item, I’ll issue a refund for the purchase price, taking into account any discounts that were applied and deducting for return shipping and insurance costs.

Exceptions

Here are a few exceptions and caveats to this return policy:

Custom work

If I made a fully customized piece for you, then you made a down payment. This down payment is not refundable (which was explained when we agreed to work on the piece together and is also explained in my custom work policy). The remainder of the payment is eligible for a refund.

Abuse

No one likes to be abused. As a small business owner, it’s hard to eat the costs of returns, even when it’s necessary. So, if I feel you’re trying to abuse this policy, I may refuse to give you a refund.

The reasons might include (but aren’t limited to):

  • requesting refunds on multiple items for no obvious reason,
  • or returns that are damaged due to obvious mistreatment rather than poor workmanship.

If I feel you’re one of those incredibly rare people who would act this way, I’ll happily decline to do further business with you.

Gifts

If you’re wanting to return a gift someone gave you, we go one of two ways. You can have the gift-giver make the return, and I’ll refund the money to that person. Or I can give you, the gift recipient, store credit for the purchase price of the item less return shipping, insurance, and any discounts that were applied. Totally up to you.

More than 30 days

If, according to the shipment’s tracking info, it’s been more than 30 days since the item was delivered, I won’t accept a return. But I may accept a trade-in of some sort. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If your return falls into this category, contact me to see what we can work out.

Gift cards

Gift cards can be refunded within 30 days of purchase, but only to the original purchaser, not the recipient.
