Shipping policy
Hi, I’m Marnie Burch (herein known as “The Marnie”, or just “Marnie”, sometimes “I”, maybe even “me,” “my,” “mine,” or some other similar first-person pronoun), owner of Capulin Creations (herein known as “The Marnie’s Amazing Jewelry Company” and often just “Capulin Creations”—crazy, I know), and I’m so thrilled to tell you all about the shipping policies for CapulinCreations.com (herein known as “The Marnie’s Amazing Jewelry Website” or, unimaginatively, “the website”).
Are you thrilled, too? I know you are.
Let's answer some questions, shall we?
“Do you offer local delivery?” you inquire. I respond:
Yes, assuming you live within a 15-mile radius of my studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you’re eligible, then you’ll be able to select Local Delivery at checkout. I’ll work with you via email to determine when and where to drop off the package (see the “How will I be kept informed during the process?” question below).
“Do you offer local pickup?” you request. I counter with:
No, I don’t.
“To where do you ship?” you might ask. And I might tell you:
Everywhere! Well, everywhere the shipping carriers I’ve chosen can get to. Which should be pretty close to everywhere.
“What carriers do you use?” you say. To which I reply:
Domestically and internationally, I use good ol’ USPS (United States Postal Service, in case you needed that spelled out). I also offer shipping with UPS (United Parcel Service) for international shipments.
“What rate options do you offer?” you inquire. And I answer:
Because YOU are my priority, I offer USPS Priority Mail (see what I did there?) within the United States. It offers fast shipping (because getting your Capulin Creations design fast is incredibly important), shipment tracking (so I can keep my eye on you—er, on the shipment), and a whopping $50 in shipping insurance (which doesn’t cover much really; I usually get separate shipping insurance anyway).
For shipments outside the US, I offer a number of UPS options as well as a few USPS Priority options.
“How much will it cost me to ship my order?” you curiously ask. My, you have a lot of questions.
Shipping within the US is always free! You’re welcome.
Costs for international shipping are dependent on where you’re shipping to and what options you choose (I think there’s like 14 or 15 to choose from, something like that). International shipping costs are calculated at checkout. I charge only what it costs me to ship to you and insure the package. Nothing more.
“How long will I have to wait to get my stuff?” Patience, my child.
After the item has been made (1 to 2 weeks for made to order items; custom items take longer), I get everything packed up and shipped out within three business days.
Within the United States, USPS Priority Mail will take 1 to 3 business days. International shipping can, of course, take much longer. All shipping services I offer include tracking, so you can keep an eye on things as they whirl around the globe.
“What can I expect when I open the box?” A valid query on your part.
You are free to expect sparkly rainbows and glittery unicorns. But you’ll be super amazed because what’s actually inside a box from Capulin Creations is so much better.
Each order comes in a white mailer box clearly marked as being from Capulin Creations, though I don’t advertise that the box contains jewelry. You know, to hopefully minimize thefts. The thieves would of course be delighted with their ill-gotten acquisition, but the intended recipient might not be quite so happy.
Inside the box will be:
- pretty packing paper, easily reused or recycled;
- a thank you note from me (see the “What if I’m ordering something as a gift?” question below);
- a note about the artist (that would be me) and about Capulin Creations;
- a business card or two;
- a packing slip without any prices listed, in case this is a gift;
- a Maintenance and Care kit with anti-tarnish tabs to prevent tarnish and a polishing cloth to remove any tarnish that might pop up—my gift to you;
- and, of course, the items you purchased, each of which will be in a grey cotton-lined box stamped with the glorious Capulin Creations logo.
Be amazed, my friend. Be very amazed.
“How will I be kept informed during the process?” Such an inquisitive little thing, aren’t you?
You’ll get emails when:
- your order is placed;
- you’ve requested that I address a thank you note to someone other than you (see the “What if I’m ordering something as a gift?” question below);
- (if applicable) I’m working with you to arrange for local delivery;
- your order ships, assuming this isn’t a local delivery;
- your order arrives at its destination;
- and a few days after arrival, just to make sure everything went as planned.
If there’s ever a problem with your order for any reason, I’ll reach out by email or phone. You can always contact me here or shoot me a text: 1 (505) 226-4579. Texting is preferred since I can’t always answer my phone right away.
“What if I’m ordering something as a gift?” That’s so sweet of you! You’re an awesome friend.
I always include a thank you note in every order. If you’d like that note addressed to someone other than you, let me know. You can add instructions to the order from the shopping cart (which is the method I prefer), you can contact me here, or you can shoot me a text: 1 (505) 226-4579. Texting is preferred since I can’t always answer my phone right away.
I don’t include prices on the packing slip, so you don’t need to worry about the recipient seeing how much you spent on them. If you want them to know, you can “accidentally” forward the invoice to them. Whoops!
You can ship directly to the intended recipient. Just choose their address as the Ship To address when checking out.
You'll still get all the emails that let you know what's going on with your order (see the “How will I be kept informed during the process?” question above).
And that, my friend, is my shipping policy.
