Maybe It’s My Mid-Life Crisis Talking… Removing The Crutch
Posted by Marnie Burch on
Sometimes I feel like a baby learning to walk. I think I have the crawling part down. But now it’s time to stand up. I have a tendency to hide when things get really hard, when I might get criticized by negative feedback or just plain silence. Maybe it’s my mid-life crisis talking but I’m tired of hiding. I’m ready to take risks: heart-pounding, gut-wrenching risks. So, it’s time to move on from the safety of crawling and to learn to stand without a crutch, to be ok with falling.
Celebrating Christmas All Year Long

Here in New Mexico, we put red and green chile on everything. Go to any Mexican or New Mexican restaurant, and when you order you’ll invariably be asked: red or green?

The Calm Before The Mayhem (The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year)
Posted by Marnie Burch on
There are times I want to leave this state, pack up and find a new adventure somewhere else. But then autumn trundles around, and I’m reminded why I always hesitate to leave New Mexico.

A land of contrasts – and a land of enchantment
Posted by Marnie Burch on
I wasn’t born in New Mexico, but I got here as soon as I could. It’s such a wildly beautiful place, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. New Mexico is a study in dichotomy, a land of contrasts. Between its droughts and floods, volcanoes and river valleys, forest fires and ice caves, this land will entrap you. But only because it has enchanted you. Whether you’re a permanent resident here, an occasional visitor, or only dream of this enchanting place, I trust you’ll find it as fascinating as I do.
